What does this virus do?
Once run on your phone, this virus deletes all files on your phone and your memory card. You will lose all your stored data such as your phonebook, your SMS and MMS messages and any third party programs you have bought and installed on your phone. This virus also causes your phone to fail upon start-up.

You will lose all your stored data such as your phonebook, your SMS and MMS messages and any third party programs you have bought and installed on your phone. This virus also causes your phone to fail upon start-up.
SymbOS/DelFiles.A is a highly destructive Trojan. Once executed, it deletes all files in the phone’s C drive and MMC card (E drive). This results in the loss of all stored data and third party applications. It also causes the device to fail at startup.
Manual Disinfection
If the infected phone has been restarted and boot has failed, the only option is to perform a hard reset. This will erase all data stored in the phone’s C drive (including the Phonebook, Calendar, etc.) and restore the phone to its factory settings. To perform a hard reset/format on Nokia phones:
- Turn off the phone.
- While holding the following buttons down , “Call (green)” + “*” + “3”, turn on the phone
After the reset, scan your mobile device using UMU Scan and delete all files detected as SymbOS/DelFiles.A.
